Large hakeme moon jar
This round ceramic moon jar features Hakeme, a traditional Japanese white slip decoration applied with a hake brush on black clay. It’s one of the largest Hakeme pieces I’ve made — hand-thrown, hand-brushed, and fired at 1230ºC.
Inspired by the rugged landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, it was handcrafted in Harrogate. Each piece reflects a connection between my Japanese heritage and the organic textures of the countryside.
The handmade process ensures that every moon jar is truly one of a kind.
Features:
• Approximate size: H 28cm x D 28cm
• Colour: White / Black
• Handmade in the UK
