Sky blue moon jar
“Moon jar" a round ceramic vase in ‘Sky Blue’ glaze. This vessel was hand thrown, glazed in several layers, and fired at 1250ºc.
Taking inspiration from the rough and wild landscape in the Yorkshire Dales, it was handcrafted locally in Harrogate. Each piece intertwines my Japanese heritage and countryside surroundings to create patterns and glazes which mimic organic textures.
The captivating hue of the Sky blue moon jar is reminiscent of a clear, serene sky, evoking a sense of calm and serenity. The hand-glazed finish enhances the depth of the blue, creating a visual effect that mimics the expanse of the celestial sphere.
Each piece is unique and one of a kind.
