Ocean wave moon jar ⌀30cm
Hand brushed “moon jar” round ceramic vase, glazed in matte white and deep blue on toasted stoneware clay. This vessel was hand thrown and fired at 1250ºc.
Taking inspiration from the rough and wild landscape in the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, it was handcrafted locally in Harrogate. Each piece intertwines my Japanese heritage and countryside surroundings to create patterns and glazes which mimic organic textures.
The delicate hand-brushed patterns that adorn its surface captures the essence of the ocean, with each wave carefully painted to evoke a sense of movement and serenity. The subtle variations in the blue hues add depth and character, making each jar a one-of-a-kind creation.
